I was trying to read my hour meter, but accidentaly help the trip buttun down then turned the ignition on. The whole cluster light up, the tach and speedometer started bouncing around. At the end it flashed C Code then a bunch of numbers and some letters followed. It looked like it was doing a sytem check, but of what? I couldn't find anything in the service manual. Before you ask, NO it wasnt the normal check engine light codes... .

That is how you do a function & light bulb test on the instrument cluster. Those "C" codes are for the cluster, too.

Yes as stated you triggered the Instrument Cluster Diagnostics. The display shows a two digit code and a two number count. This is a list of Instrument Cluster codes that I have. I think this was from a 2003 manual so there might be new ones.

Do I need to worry about these??

I just ignore them unless there is really something that is evident and related to the code. On mine I have seen codes like some of the above that were just there. Never had any indication that there was really a problem. I think mine were just glitches.

Let's put it like this; make out like you did not accidently find the Instrument Cluster diagnostic sequence. Would you be worried about something wrong with no indication of a problem?
