Need some 'hauling' advice -

Hauling trailer and car, short trip, about 6500 lbs, at 65 mph, flat and level:

Pyro = 800 - 900*

Trans temp = 160*

Boost = 6-10

Water temp = 170*

On a full pull boost peaks at 14 psi, pyro at 1050* Sound about right? Y'all think they're too low or too high? I want to get 'happy' with the performance, but I have no comparison, and I KNOW y'all do. Haven't been on a long trip yet hauling the toys, so I'll know more later.

On a hard or light pull on accel. mine will pull 20 psi easily and never has gone over 950 egt. Even with 10k behind it. Maybe my intercooler makes a differance. engine temp at most goes 1/2 way on gauge. Dont have a trans temp or manual water temp.

Assuming that your pyro is in the exhaust manifold and that you haven't messed with the engine much..... Your readings are quite typical and well within safe limits.

General rules of themodynamics says..... (ok, what the Heck to I know. . )

If you're at 1250*F you're good to go pretty well all day... ...

If you're at 1350*F you got about 1 minuted out of 5... .

If you're at 1500*F you're pretty much so far out on the limb that you can expect to need a proctologist, a coronary artery specialist, a cadiac surgeon, and psychiatrist, and you're bank manager for a mortgage... ;);) :D:p and darn quick cause it's gonna get ugly fast.....

Does that help???? ..... I thought not... who says I don't have a sense of humor... ;)
