Poll doesn't go low enough...

I get a solid 14MPG driving Hard,, smokin' out intersections,, showing PSD's and D-maxs who's boss,, and leaving plenty of rubber on the ground.

I can easily go up to 16MPG if I drive about 100 miles of highway,, but all my miles are stop&go in town.

If I drive 60-65MPH I can get an easy 20MPG

You need to lower the options for us 98. 5 24V who got sold on the point that the 24V was supposed to have 20% increase in mpg over the 12Vs. Mine went down 3mpg over my 12V. Thanks DODGE!

"5 star steelers!" :D

Miklos, and I though my 16. 5 MPG was bad :eek:

the '97 I had was a 5 spd, 4wheel drive and got 20MPG.

my current 2001, Auto, 4wheel drive gets 16. 5 MPG at 75MPH at 2000 RPM. I know my '97 would have been at 2300 RPM at the same speed and still get better milage.

with 122 votes in at this time it looks like auto's get an average of 17MPG and standards get an average of 19MPG.

the selection should a break down for in town and high way.

so, not having what i want i have to type this. bah

i get 16-18 fartin' around here east of everett. i get 20+on the highway if i keep it below 75[again, BAH] and 18+ pullin' the toys and keeping it around 65-70. heavy winds will steal about 2mpg.

if your auto is done right it can give a manual a run for it's money on milage.

I write down all my fuel expenses in a book. I have marked down when certain events happen. In this case I will use BP and AP ( before Piers and after Piers ).

BP = 15,297 mi / 959. 0 gal = 15. 95 mpg

AP = 8,740 mi / 514. 3 gal = 16. 99 mpg

I am sooo glad I have the venerable 12 valver. It's a 97 2wd auto with a 4:10 rear. Taking the kids to school in town only it's mileage is very poor... 9-10 mpg. Mixed driving... 16 mpg. 200 mile trips on the freeway at 65, 20-22 mpg. Cruise set at 46 mph in Yellowstone for 300 miles... 25. 126 MPG. Loaded pulling a 15,000 lb 5er... 11-12 mpg. Don't even bother checking your mileage before 25,000 is on the clock or before you hook up something heavy. 10,000 miles pulling a trailer that weighs 10,000 lbs. or more will really help.

My truck averages 22. 8 mpg city or highway. :D :D :D I have never got less than 20 mpg even pulling a load. I have a friend with the same setup that never gets over 15 mpg :confused:

my 01. 5 has about 4000 miles on her. i carry about 2000 lbs on her all the time . i go to work about 20 miles mostly stop nd go . than back home another 20 miles . my average so far is 15mpg. i use lucaus additive. people have told me after break in my mpg will go up . is this true?

Just finished first Interstate trip with my '02. Turned over 900 miles.

I drove between 75-80 for 4 hours 20 minutes. I got 18. 1 mpg. Had a slight tail wind. Empty.

I am elated.

4. 10 gears Automatic.

My '01 5 spd with 4. 10 gears and Gear Vendors OD never got that mpg on same trip at 70 mph.

I haven't installed the Gear Vendors on the '02 Auto yet.

I intend to use GV with Overdrive turned off. Should keep RPMs up while towing.

I think that how long your trips are has more to do with fuel mileage than which transmission you have. I drive mine to work and back (almost all highway), making the engine warm up every 15 miles. I get about 15 under these circumstances. When I am constantly driving, I get 18-24 mpg: 24 babying it on the highway, and 18 city/highway not so babying it.

Yeah, I get 14 - 15 MPG average per tank. If I do a lot of freeway driving, and stay out of the smoke pedal, I can hit 18 - 19. Worst I've seen is 13 (shortly after adding a 250 hp plate. ) For some reason, my right foot was just too heavy to hold up! :D

my 96 4x4 with 3. 54 gears, 13. 8 around town and hiway. Used to get 17-18 around town and 20. 5 on the freeway. Im ready to torch this and get one that gets good mileage. Its a five speed manual. Seeing everyones mileage is depressing me!Help!!:mad:
