Where do you get a copy of the star line, guideline on lift pump minimum PSI requirements?

Their is no copy to print out. The D/C STAR hotline is a "manufacturer to dealer" service line. If they give you problems about replacing the lift pump, under warranty, and your pressures are below 8psi at any trottle position (assuming you have a clean filter)... have them call the hotline. If they still give you a problem, let them know you will be contacting Chrysler's customer service department... ;)

What if I continue to run at 9 psi idle and 4 wide open, I am at 60,000 miles with extended warranty until 100k on everything, do you think I could run up to the end of warranty safely if it doesnt get any worse then have a new lift pump installed??

If I want a new pump installed now do you think dodge will do it?

Also is that a cummins warranty or a dodge warranty??

ecarney, your #s are ok, just monitor as miles add up, thats what the gauge is for;) . As for 2 different readings, on your filter canister there are 2 fuel lines near the bottom with banjo fittings. 1 is fuel INTO filter from lift pump or PRE-Filter. Other is fuel OUT of filter housing and over to injection pump or POST- Filter, this may be a bit lower reading as some pressure is lost in filter. More pressure is lost thru a dirty filter  Have Fun, Jim G.

If you have a clean filter, and you are getting these readings, you have a pump that is showing signs of being weak. Sometimes they run for a while, and sometimes they just stop running. I'd have it replaced, but if you are alright with the possibility of having it fail, then towing it in, wait. Just my $. 02...

The new pump will be replaced by your Dodge dealer, although I have heard that it can be done by a Cummins repair facility, if authorized by Dodge.

Motorhead

Before the fuel filter. The plug on top of the filter canister, furthest away from the center. :D :D

On the early 24Vs (98. 5+ and 99 I think) the fuel filter canister is different then the 2000+ 24Vs. The early ones have two fuel ports on the top lid. I think inside one is pre filter, and the outside one is post filter but I don't have this type, so someone with one of these earlier canisters will have to confirm. On the 2000+ 24Vs the post filter fuel going to the injector is on the bottom of the canister.

I think most of us with one fuel pressure gauge are getting are pressures post filter, as this is the pressure the injector sees (VP44). The easiest place to put the fuel pressure sender in on the fuel line going into the VP44. You'll need a modified banjo bolt (see Geno's) to mount it there. Have fun... :D
