Last night I was hauling a load down to Denver and my truck would stumble in 4th and 5th gear when I was going up a hill. It would be running fine, then the engine would drop out for a sec and the boost would drop a couple of PSI. Power would quickly come back, only to stumble again in a few sec.

I checked my pump for leaks and it was fine. I hooked up Briar Hopper's FP test gauge and my pressure was under 5 psi. Couldn't think of what might be wrong but when I checked the fuse it to it, it had been blown. (I'm not telling you how it was blown... let's just say I learned my lesson... ) Replaced the fuse and the truck runs fine. I'd say this is what your truck is going to feel like if your pusher pump dies completely.

So if you have a pusher pump and your truck starts stumbling, check your fuse!

BTW... this is what I was towing...

I concur completely, I was hauling a similar load (Jeep on a trailer) and traveling to Kentucky and back and had the exact issues. Took it in to the dealer that next week and it was the lift pump... . stumbles like a SOB and is frustrating as hell ain't it??

The fuse is for the pusher pump I installed as an aftermarket acc. The pump I'm talking about is NOT the factory lift pump. I'm not sure where the stock lift pump fuse is.

Having your truck stumble like that is frustrating but very scary b/c you are sitting there wondering if your CTD is trying to destroy itself or what. Luckily, it is an easy fix.
