Need a new Base Ant, last ice storm took top 8' off the Penetrator. I have an 18' aluminum dipole which is fairly broad banded, but it turns my DIRECTV box on/off when I key up.

Maybe some help/advice

My 97' I recently purchased has two cell phones antenna's (through the roof) style it appears. I would like to replace the front one with a CB antenna. What I do not know is how to pull the headliner along with how to deal with through the roof antenna installations. I have never dealt with them before. How are they accomplished and how/what seals them to water leaking.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I wish to install my Galaxy DX95T.

The penetrating mounts that I've seen are something called "NMO" mounts. That's short for "New Motorola" and is used for the vast majority of commercial antenna installations in vehicles. So pretty much every cop car and taxi that you see an antenna on, it's almost certainly an NMO mount. You should be able to do a google search on something like "NMO antenna mount" to get pictures for comparison purposes to verify that's what you have.

I've never worked with NMO mounts before, so I can't really advise how easy it would be to replace the NMO cell phone antennas with an NMO CB antenna with coax. If all else fails you can easily get caps that cover the NMO mount, and you could go with a mag mount CB antenna.
