Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) what makes our engines noisier than 2003 an up

Seems like I asked that once and the concensus was it wasn't good for this engine for various reasons. Even if you did shut off pilot injection... it may sound closer to the VP44 engines... but I don't think it will for the same reasons. Since the injection pump just isn't present on the 2003 up trucks... so there is no way to duplicate that exact sound.

You're right Ncostello jerk-pumps on test stands make a lot of racket, and the noise increases proportionally to the amount of fuel being injected.
