GO for #1 Engine Service and Repair

Isnt this forum for trouble shooting? I know I've gotten more help from here than any book or mechanic (with the exception of the ones that post here):D . What year is your pickup? I have a set from 90 (my truck is a 11/90- need to bake it a cake this month, it's a teenager. ); there was a set for a 93 a few weeks ago in the classifieds. Paid $45 for mine, shipping included.

If you don't have any at all, you need to get the Dodge service manual for the year truck you have. Then if you need to you can get the engine service manual, the engine troubleshooting manual, etc. The service manual covers just about everything you will need to do and also has wiring diagrams.

There are several websites you can go to, do a search in the first gen archives and you can find them. A good place for new manuals is tech authority, sorry but I don't have the web site. You can call them and order one, phone is 800-890-4083. New manuals are $59 plus shipping there. Like Daniel said, keep an eye open on Ebay or in the TDR classifieds and you might find what you are looking for a little cheaper.

If your rig has a manual transmission get the 93 service manual, if yours is a non inter-cooled rig get the one for your rig. If you have a non-intercooled rig with a manual, get both unless you plan on swapping to a NV4500 transmission.

Just checked and it looks like they no longer have 1st. Gen manuals, at least on the web site, here is the for them 800-890-4038.
