What material for a "Pre-filter" for the Air Filter?

What material/cloth would be good to use for this? I would like to have some made for the original filter for the 1st Gen's, with the "swiss-cheese" air box and possibly others.

I bet Outerwears makes a prefilter for the stock size air filter. If not or the cheap way would be to use pantyhose over the filter.
