What mileage are you getting while towing? How much weight do you tow and what do you think of your power while towing that weight? Thanks

Just a smidge under 10 @ GCW 20,000#. Good power, only the longest or steepest hills slow her down, but not much.

33. 5' 5th wheel, GCW 22,500#, Towing about 65-70 mph between LA and Tucson (Pretty flat), got between 10 and 11 MPG.

18" flatbed w/ a ford taurus (I'd say about 6k ( I know, not too heavy) towing about 75-85 averaged around 10-11. Only time it had to shift out of OD was on a 5. 5% grade, other than that it had plenty of power to keep speed.

The first thing I pulled was my old 91 ranger on a 15 foot or so flat bed not to long after I got the truck and I got a little over 12 to where I was going and the same with the just trailer and NO ranger. Keep it 70-75 down and 75 the way back and the only time I went out of OD was to pass people going up hill in the passing lane. Was very pleased with it. Last thing I pulled was a 15 foot flatbed felled to the gill with old rail road tembers but that was only like 30-40 miles or so, so I really didnt check the milage on that haul.

Towed a sailboat and a bunch of junk, weighed in at 11,300 lbs GCVW and turned in 17mpg, driving much slower than CIverson. 75 is plenty fast, I hope that 85 was one quick short blast

Low 10. 5 high 12. 5 with my 23K GCVW. No complaints. I would expect less mileage going into a headwind in SDAK. No complaints, this truck was born to tow:D .

Edit: I have towed from ME and NH to the Smokies in East TN with this truck and trailer and not much of that is what you would call "flat". CT, NY and PA aren't the Rockies, but they are not the best areas for mileage, either.

towing mileage

I just got back yesterday from Pine Island,Fl KOA towing my 31'6" 5er,pulled into the CAT scales to see how many "treasures" we have accumulated. I have a GCWR of 20,160lbs,went back to the scale this morning ,the truck weighs 7700lbs w/ wife,me & fat Dalmatian. This is my third trip ,I'm averaging 12. 3mpg at 62mph. I can leave it in 6th on cruise w/o any effort in flat Florida. I can't wait to see how it handles the Smokie's. PCoakley

Between 9 - 11 mpg on the interstate cruising at 80 mph. Lower with a headwind. 11. 5 - 13 doing 70 mph on normal highways. I had up to 14 with a tailwind. All this is towing a 3600 lbs. travel trailer, GCW of 12k.

11 mpg towing 16,000 pound fiver at around 62 mph. Plenty of power for me anyway.

I pull a 53ft 4-car auto transport. I run between California and Florida. Average GCVW between 25k-34k running about 70mph most of the time. On the flats with no head wind I can get about 9. 3 or so depending on weight and vehicle profile on trailer Up hill working hard into the wind drops down pretty quickly!!! As low as 4. 5 depending... . without wind around 6. 5 to 7. 5 or so.

I have averaged 12. 7 mpg, towing a 9000 pound, 27 foot, fifth wheel. However, the trailer is not hooked up a 100% of the time when I have calculated my towing mileage.

Great power, and I like the relatively small turning radius ( at least compared to my old Ford)

Jeep on flatbed, 14,580lbs GCW, 75 MPH 4773 miles from Florida to Utah (via I-70) & back--12. 9 MPG Avg

30' 5th-wheel toyhauler (with Jeep inside), 22,780 lbs GCW 65 MPH 4651 miles Florida to Colorado (via I-70) & back--10. 9 MPG Avg

mileage

11. 6 mpg for 800 round mile trip this past weekend. I pulled a 24 foot goose flatbed. Two Fords PS along with about same trailers. It was 14 deg. when we left, Wooster, OH. 40 deg. where we were going, Loogootee, IN. The trip took 21 hours with stops and weather :{ .

About 13. 5 to 14mpg with camper and three horse slant fully loaded about 12k. Trucks likes the load, pulls the hills, I'm happy:D
