2nd Gen Non-Engine/Transmission 4 Wheel Alignment?

Just got a 24 valve CTD. I have boost, exh temp, and trans temp guages. Now its time for some more pulling power. I want to put in a free flowing filter, 4 in exh, and an edge ez. My thinking is do the exh and filter first so it can breath then the edge. Or does the edge not really need it?? Also what mod should be done to the trans with these other mods?? Its been rebuilt about 20k ago and want it to last. I use the truck daily for towing anything from a small travel trailer to a 15k fifth wheel. I drive about 3700 to 4200 miles a week, half towing and half empty. So you can see I want some more power, but it must be reliable and better mpg is also very important.

Thanks, Karl

(not kidding about the miles)

My advice is to hold off on the 4" exhaust unless you can get the pyro above 1350 . This is asuming the probe is pre turbo, use 950 if post turbo.

Then use that saved money for the 275 injectors. This will really help the 24v the most. Better mileage and power.

You can see my trucks set-up and for the most part the 4" is not needed till the comp box gets set to 3 -4- or 5.

Good luck and enjoy it!!!

PS. don't waist time with a replacement filter-- just get rid of the factory filter and box. Go with a AFE of BHAF.

Start putting your change in a pickle jar for a trans upgrade. Your gonna need it before long. Believe me, these guys on the TDR are ruthless when it comes to spending your money on Bombs!!!;) :D

My thoughts...

I run a stick instead of a auto.

1) Fuel pressure gauge. The lift pumps are notorious for dying and maybe killing the VP44 injector pump.

2) Loose the factory muffler, but leave the resonator (looks like a cat converter, but it isn't). This will help EGTs enough when running the EZ that you won't need to lay down a bunch on a 4" system. Sound is good, but not loud.

3) transmission upgrade - Pay me now or pay me later with the increased power. But at 3 - 4K... you have to ask how hard you are going to run it.

4) Edge EZ. This is the best mod I have every done to my truck. Born to tow!

Just my opinion.
