I have a 98 3500 with 4" straight pipe and auto trans. All I need the truck for is towing a 11,000 lb 5th wheel. I don't want to bomb the truck but I would like enough power to pass semis on upgrades. Also I want to keep the EGT's down.

Any suggestions appreciated

first of all get gauges if you already donthave them, (at least a pyrometer). try sliding you stock fuel plate forward a bit, you get some more powerout of that. is that is not enough then a #10 plate and 3k gov. springs will definately liven up your cummins. if that is not enoguh you may need injectors, but your auto transmission wont handle that much power, and youll need to upgrade. happy bombing!

Keith,

I went with the trans first. The triple disc converter will help git er down the road better. The plate, gov & afc springs really help a 12v. But without the guages its very difficult to tell what you have to do. Watch the #'s on the exhaust to tell what you need to do next.
