Where can I buy the AFE and since reading the posts here on TDR I have noticed that there are a bunch of different boxes available which I'm sure perform at different levels for different needs, I'm not wanting to do 1. 35 60 footer's I just would like a performance upgrade. Which box would fill my needs?

Instead of going the AFE and dealing with possible warranty problems I stayed with the stock filter and drilled out the stock air box bottom and front side with a 2-1/2" hole saw and then super glued plastic fly screen to the out side of the air box to diffuse possible rain water from going to the filter,it works!Picked up almost 1 mpg.

Drilling holes in the stock airbox will also void warranty!!!

I have had the AFE for 30,000 miles no major pep difference added the EZ alot of difference. Cheapo Depot Straight pipe really made a difference. But i think the difference I am feeling is due to my automatic. The turbo Lag is virtually gone. Putting a 4" system on today or tomorrow STRAIGHT PIPE IS FREAKIN LOUD

ez gave me 69 rwhp on level 4,80 rwhp on the level they said was not in the box  . price I paid 46? from haisley machine. however I have been told they sell in the 300 range on e-bay. I love the ez,but injectors are truely a smoother power,at the trade off of cost.

There is an AFE for sale on the DieselTruckResource classifieds (by AK Ram). These sell new for 280 to 320.

There are also Several EZ's for sale there and on the TDR classifieds. No reason to buy new when all of these are out there. You can get new EZ's for a little over 400 on EBay.

I really like the EZ, just put it on a few weeks ago, and today I did my first fill up after "normal" driving. I went from 16. 7mpg to 18. 4 (hand calculated). All that and the wonderful power!!!! Oo.

Dont expect much in the way of performance or efficiency gains from intake/exhaust mods. They only really benefit you in the EGT reduction and quicker spool up on the turbo. I picked up a little under 1mpg with both the Monster Exhaust and the AFE PG 7 setup.

And like everyone else has stated - GET GUAGES! (Or if you have self control, buy one of the TST PMCR's that has the in cab guage set up - there are also several used ones in the classifieds)

definately EGT gauge is a must. To get started on the electronic fuel enhancements, pick up the lastest TDR mag (issue 45, see technical topics). you can go here for more detailed box-specific information. its not complete (yet) but it will get you started
