How do twins work?

Kwikspool b1b-2 to b1-2 tow

Ok I now have a Transmission to handle the load. I want to get to around 400Hp of very usable power. I refuse to tap the pump wire!! ;)

I rarely tow but want to maintain the capability, after all that is why I bought the truck in the first place. This is my daily driver and family Caravan. I need to be able to turn it over to the wife in an emergency and not worry about EGT's, and no she cannot be trained

I am thinking I need Mach 1. 5's or 2's and I will be there. My biggest concern is the turbo. I do not like lag and I do not drag race but I do want good performance when driving in traffic. I puff out a healthy dose of smoke now and the EGT's climb fast but level off at 1100 or so max.

Thanks for the advice :-laf

I would go with an Edge EZ (doesn't tap the pump wire also I am not sure how this compares to your Raptor), put in some mach 2. 5's, and get a PDR HX-40. This combo should yield the usable HP you are looking for.

Thanks

I think the Raptor is just an EZ with a different sticker on it. Sure looks the same. I guess the "unknown" here is the HotRod VP, not sure where that leaves me.

Wow 2. 5's, Seems big in my mind but I have nothing to compare to so I value your opinion. Will the HX40 spool ok with a tight converter or would a 35/40 Hybrid be better on the bottom?

Should I get on the dyno and see where I am at? Would that make choosing future pieces easier?

You want all the pieces to work well/complement each other. My personal opinion is the 35/40 turbo does spool well but it is best put on truck around 350 HP, backpressure from the small housing causes excessive heat and pressure. The PDR HX-40 spools well with a tigh TC. The 2. 5's are great injectors (I run them for everyday use). EGT's will not be a problem and power will be good. The Hot VP looks to be good for around 40-50 HP so this would put you right on you HP target plus it would be very usable.

Just what I was looking for

Thanks for your input, that is just the kind of information I was looking for. User friendly power that will be "kind" to my stock headgasket. I don't mind spending a few beans to do it right if need be.

Thanks
