I was wondering what people put in the differentials (w/anti spin) on their 3G's.

Mine is due and Royal Purple, Mobil 1 I heard supposed to be good, true?

Thanks

Amsoil, Mobil 1, Royal Purple are all great oils. Ive used Amsoil and Mobil 1 without a hitch for 580,000 miles on 2 different trucks and have had absolutely no problems.

Oil discussions around here is like discussing who makes the best chip, or the best aftermarket transmission. Its all personal preference>

I cannot say enough about fellow member Klenger's website --> HERE A lot of good info on general maintainance for when the rest comes due. Kudos, Ken!!

Agreed, oils are a personal preference so long as the specs are met, I used the Mobil synthetic in my diffs.

What weight of oil is recommended? 75W-90? 85W-140??

Joe

From my research and understanding: the former is the minimum recomendation specification. The latter is for "heavy duty" use. I'll let you determine your own definition of HD as it relates to your truck use.

I tow occasionally but have a truck camper on about 80% of my travels (on & off road. ) I 4WD about 50-75% (winter and summer use. ) i find the 75W-90 sufficient enough for my means.
