Ok, I realize that there are alot of opinions about this, so post up.

If there would be just one mod (or bomb I guess?) to increase power to my truck, what should it be? Injectors? Chip/Box?... what brand? transmission??

Bang for your buck..... Transmission. A lot of buck to start out with, but it is inevitable when you start modifying anyways. So, start out by putting what you already have to the ground, then go up from there.

This could be a lot of things, but it comes down to what you are using your truck for.

Assuming at least an EGT gauge, I would say the MAD ECM. If that was around when I bought my first mod, a used EDGE EZ, I would have done that in a heartbeat. Makes the truck just drive better.

Yeah I've got EGT, Boost, and trans temp guages, also a low fuel PSI light.

Truck is my daily driver as well as the tow rig for my Jeep. I'm not really worried about making 500hp or anything like that, but I'd like to be able to pull grades without having the go pedal on the floormat.

Mad ECM, what company makes that? I can't find anything on google. So the Edge EZ is pretty good as well? Wonder if I'll be able to use my Superchip programming along with either of those?

You need to get in touch with Bob Wagner from Wagner and Associates. It'll make your truck feel like a gasser off idle.

It will add some power overall, but the big thing is added driveability. This coupled with some small injectors would make a great tow rig.

Bob's truck is making around or over 400 HP with Mach 4s and a MAD ECM. No wire tap required.

Yeppers, I will definately agree with the catcher for a single mod in your price range.

A note about your Fuel psi light, get a gauge :D

Seriously though, the light is a nice addition to a gauge, but the gauge could indicate a failing LP whereas the light will most likely indicate a failed pump. When my LP went out, I had warning with the pressure jumping around on several occassions prior to full failure.

If you send back your ECM for a core, you could get both the CaTCHer (Clutch and Traction Challenger) and a fuel PSI gauge.

Happy Bombing!

After reading some threads and talking to a few people, i will be going with the Catcher as my first upgrade. I have yet to read or hear anyone say they didn't like it. #ad

The light will kick on if I get below 5psi... yeah I suppose a guage would be better, but I got the light for $20 so I figured I'd add that. Where would I mount another guage even? Already have 3 on the A pillar.

For the Catcher, do I need to pull my ECM and mail it to be programmed? What's the cost? Not a whole lot of info on that website.

Nate, you can send Bob your current ECM if you can be without the truck for a few weeks. He sends it to Marco and gets it reprogrammed and then you are all set. You could also get a donor ECM and send that to Bob and keep your stocker for a backup, emissions or whatever. Also, Bob has core ECMs for sale, so you can do a one stop shop.

Call Bob and he'll work out the pricing for you. BTW, I found an ECM in Kentuky for almost nothing. So shop around, check your local wrecking yards or use a parts locator service. Ebay has a pretty steady stream of them as well.

Before the CAtcher came out, an ECm was worth about $50, now they are worth over $250- $300.

There is actually a power outlet (cigarette plug) on my truck where that cubby would be.

I think the light is fine for now. When the lift pump fails, I'll know it, which is better than not having any warning device.
