I have the sneaking feeling that all the Diesel crazies around here (don't even think of including ME in THAT group - Disclaimer) don't just own a Dodge / Cummins, and leave it at that.
I bet that there's other oil burning, tune-up denying, gas-pump passing, secondary rigs that you guys have in the driveway. Possibly something bought after your DC opened your eyes to Diesel's undeniable advantages over Gas.
My neighbors and friends think I'm so biased towards it, that they're planning, to buy me a diesel powered weed-wacker for my birthday!
But for confession time here's our list:
1997 2500 DC Club Cab, 19. 5's, Our Beast of Burden, Raging Road & Load Warrior.
1982 MERCEDES 300 SD 5 cylinder, 3. 0 litre low pressure turbo
(mine only has 191 k miles, my mechanic says many hearabouts have 400 - 850 k miles, original engines in many !) Still gets 29. 5 mpg, looks great, runs fast (for a diesel) & comfortable for the 5 of us! Oh yeah, and it cost me a whopping $ 6000 ! It looks like new, so I love telling people who just paid $ 16,000-20,000 for a base Honda or Nissan or Chevy sedan, "My choices were limited by price, it was the best car I could find for $ 6,000 !
1982 ISUZU I-Mark Diesel 4 cy 1. 8 litre
This car will never die. Correction: The fairlyl cheap body & int will eventually die, but the engine never will. That's why I gave it as a donation to man at church. During prayer time, he mentioned that his Chevy 454 V-8 Dually was getting 8 mpg on premium gas- $ 2. 25 gal, and he was going broke driving it daily. Can you say: Diesel is once again the answer: Moral: The prayers of the broke or broken down Chevy gas rig are answered by a 40 mpg rice-oil-burner. God answers prayer, and Chevy Gas rigs will either drive you broke, or you will drive them broken. (He said both were true)
1999 VW TURBO DIESEL 1. 8 litre 25 kw GENERATOR SET :
Bulletproof, same as in the VW cars, industrial version never gets tired, sips fuel at modest rate. With syn oil, should have a lifespay of 20,000-40,000 hours. No tuneups, of course.
There you have it, proof that Diesel is addictive and habit forming, money saving, and has Divine approbation!
Please let me know if you find a diesel weedwacker, drop me a line asap, ok?
