What Paint To Use On Leafs?

I have pulled the leaf springs apart and sand blasted them. What type of paint should be used on them? Is regular powder coating OK to use? Is there a better paint to use? Is it OK if the paint is between the leafs (as in painted before assembly)? Any help is much appreciated. Thanks

I've painted the leafs individually before assembling them. I used regular automitive paint. Powder coat should be fine, I would think. I do know that the springs will sit the truck higher for a while untill the springs settle down because of the paint between them. It does seem to keep the usual rust between each leaf from showing up like it does when you paint it as an assembly.

I just used metal etch primer and 2 costs of gloss black when I tore mine apart last week.
