I want to get into a Heavy Equipment Career (have some ???'s)

2 out of 3 of the trucks I've sold over the years have been kind of a pita. First was a '92 Chevy Sub 2500 4x4 454. I had it in Auto Trader to start with. Wasted a whole Sunday waiting for a caller, said he was very interested, wanted to come look, blaa blaa blaa, who never showed. Some other guys came and looked at it. They seemed interested, test drove it. said everything was ok. The one who was the buyer said he'd think about it. 2 days later made me an offer over the phone that I excepted. He never showed on the day he was supposed to come to buy it. Called the next day and said sorry he didn't make it, his girldfriend's uncle died. He wanted to know if he could come the next day. I said sure, no problem. The guy never did show! Needless to say I was a little po'd. I did end up selling it to a local guy who saw my ad in the local paper.

Second was my '66 F-250. I only wanted $800 for it. 1st guy to look at it wanted to know if I'd take $50 or $100 a month, mabye more if it was a good month, untill it was paid for. He was dead serious. BTW, he'd just gotten out of jail for OWI.

The last one I sold was a '91 F-150 4x2 with 141000 miles. The first guy to look at bought it without even test driving it. Sold it to him for $300 less than I was asking.

Tim,

Park it in Ft. Collins, there's plenty of vw nuts there.

HUGE thanks to mgoncalves for the idea. We brought our '74 super beetle down to an old school VW dealer in Ft. Collins and it was sold the next day! Funny thing, the buyer was from Cheyenne where I had been paying and paying for ads in the paper including photo ads. He says he never saw my ads. Even after paying 10% commission, I'm still a happy camper. I also talked the buyer into paying for my fuel to go down and trailer it for him back to Cheytown. :D
