Man I feel like quite a noob

I'm in the process of putting in my #10 plate right now and this is the plate that was in the pump. It had been slid forward but I dont know if it is the stock plate or not. So does this look like a stock plate for a 160 Ppump?

Stock plate :( . The 10 plate will be a mild upgrade if you don't change injectors also.

Bob.

Got a quick quesiton for ya, Bob.

On a stock plate, why do they have that really abrupt step about half way up and the corners are all squared off? On the stock set-up, is that step sticking out in the middle supposed to be the starting point of the governor levers travel up the profile rather than the very bottom of the plate? My Banks plate looked similar to that stocker and had the same style of square step profile on it and I am just confused about those types of profiles.

Thanks, Joe

Not 100% sure, but it appears that on auto trucks, it is there to cut the fuel back at T/C lock-up in O/D. My truck was a dog at lock-up, unless you had planted your foot off the line. The #10 plate with its half moon shape lays on the fuel at about that same point where the nose is on the stock plate. Now, throw in some 370 and :D . Huge difference by the butt-o-meter. Oo.
