Engine/Transmission (1994 - 1998) What plate is this?

I removed the AFC housing and found that the torque curve plate that is in my truck has the number 24242 stamped on the top. What kind of plate is it? Thanks.

That looks like original part number, the original plate out of my 98 had a #24287.

Yep 24242 is a Bosch plate number.

Same plate that came stock in my 97 2WD.

Wow. This truck is the fastest stock 12v I have ever driven. :--)

I know the injectors have been changed. Does that make that much difference? This truck runs almost as strong as my wifes Power stroke with a 50 hp chip.

All 12 valves will run as strong or better than a power stroke, It is probally stock if it runs as strong as a powerchoke... I mean stroke

Injectors will make a difference.

Maybe the previous owner had the stock plate reground, too.

Was the tamper screw in place when you removed the AFC housing?

Where does your rpm max out?

Someone was inside before, that is why I thought the truck had an aftermarket plate. I took the stock plate off and did a seach, it looked stock acording to picturs of others I saw. The rpm start to taper off at about 2700. Thanks.

Well sounds as if a governor spring kit (GSK) is in your near future. A GSK install will really make the truck drive better.



Does it look if they slid the plate forward?

Was the AFc hosuing slid forward?

How about a boost elbow?

Everything looks stock. Except for the injectors and the exhaust and other minor things.

24242 is correct for 1996-98 automatics and egr equipped California 5 speeds. Both were rated at 180 hp.
