I run empty most of the time but 95% highway. What pressure are you guys running front and back for the best mileage? I think right now I'm running 70psi in the front and 65psi in the rears. I can go double that but heard it was a really rough ride, not sure if it would be that harsh on the highway empty compared to the mileage I might gain.

I doubt you'd gain any mileage. Probably just wear out your expensive tires sooner. With my Toyo 19. 5's I'm running 65psi front/55psi rear. You could always verify the proper empty pressure using the chalk method on the tire tread.

you wont' gain any mileage... nor will you wear them out sooner... well... slightly, maybe, but your painful mileage comes from the weight of the wheel/tire combo

Regarding 19.5 tires and wheels...

Anyone know the weight (approx) of a 19. 5 tire and aluminum (alcoa) wheel, versus the weight of a factory 16 tire and steel wheel?

90 in the front and 80 in the rear is what I have been pondering lately. My mileage is not bad by any means, I just wanted to make it better if possible.

105 psi all the way around. . I got Toyo M608z's, on 6 Alcoa 19. 5's. sure its a rough ride, but I didn't buy a 1 ton for comfort.

Can't imagine running 90 or 105psi empty. That would be a terrible ride. When running loaded I'm at 70 front/110 rear.

I think the stock tire combo is about 90lbs. My 19. 5's with aluminum Vision 81's is advertised at 140lbs. The Toyo M608z is advertised at 34. 2" tall. With the Smarty I programmed for 33. 9" tall. At 70mph, I'm . 3mph off according to my GPS.

That is where you put chalk on the tread across it, a good solid line, then roll the truck forward and back to see where the chalk wears off. If there is chalk left on the edges, lower the pressure till it wears off evenly.

I run Michileins, I called them because at the pressure they suggested my teeth got loose. They said you can run stock factory pressure with no issues. I have for two years, It runs great now.
