Hey folks:

I've noticed that when my truck is warm, it seems to roll excessively before starting, what could be the problem? I checked the codes and got 2: P 1693 and P 0522. I read the description on a couple of links from this site and could not figure out what it was telling me. This isn't related to the injection/transfer pump is it?

Thanks,

John

John. the oil pressure sending unit has been a known problem. IF you do a search of the archives you will find lots of information.

sometimes the sending units fail while you are driving down the road, prressure goes to zero and you end up on the end of a ferd tow hook

Oil pressure sending unit

John, I sure would NOT let the dealer do there fix. They do a software change and your oil pressure only shows 40 PSI all the time. I had this happen me that the sending unit failed, I went to Cummins NW bought replacement and works like it should. BTW if you do a search under oil sending unit I even put in the correct PN# for Cummins.
