What Program do you use to track Periodic Maintenance and stuff like that?

I used to use an Old Dos based program that did me well, but it's old and doesn't like Windows soo much. . so its history.

Been looking around at a few of them...

Anybody find anything that their real happy with?

Program..... shmogram:p

Being barely computer literate, I use a dry-erase whiteboard on the garage wall.

Columns for each vehicle(6 to keep tabs on), space for mileage, date, work performed, and stuff to keep an eye on.

Haven't had a system crash yet. Put BIG screws in the wall to hold it up. ;)

I do the same thing as Shovelhead but I just write on the garage freezer w/dry erase markers. I have to look it everytime I enter the garage so I usually don't miss a change or other important stuff.

Excel

Excel for me too. Plus I synch it with my PDA and not have any excuses for not knowing when my maintenance is due. What can I say? I'm a gadget freak.

When I first bought my truck I set-up a Lotus 123 spreadsheet but have now switched everything over to Excel. I also keep a 3 ring note book with everything on paper in it.

Hi tech is the way to go

I use a three part system. It ammounts to

performing the maintenance myself, then

washing my hands of grease, then writing

the date, mileage and maintenance performed

in a small notepad. :D The notepad stays

in the trucks' glovebox. No worries about

losing data in a hard-drive crash for one

thing.

I do it the old fashion way, ledger in my glove box. Date time of all work done, including oil changes, tire rotations, etc. Also log date and time I get fuel, mileage start and stop, gallons taken, calculated fuel milage and what the trip computer gave for milage. Maybe sometime put on computer Excel but would still keep ledger for backup!!

Well - I have done the little note book in the glove box system system for years and thought it was fine. Everything is in there - somewhere!

Shortly after getting the '98 I stumbled on the K-JON software and started using it for the PU and the 5th wheel. After "catching up" the PU for the first 6 months I have not had the dedication needed to enter the info from the "little book" for the 12 year old Honda with 285,000 miles on it. Bottom line question is, Do I really care about what all of that maitenance cost and when it was done? Probably do - other wise why did I write it down. Truth is I have no idea of how much the Honda cost me over 12 years of ownership. (and it's too dang much work to find out) I hope to know after 12 years with the 98!

Thats my . 02
