I'm having PDR rebuild my 24v engine (it had a bad #6 cylinder), and I'm going to do a P-pump conversion on it. I am not all that familiar with the options for building a p-pump, however.
I would like as much power as possible, with the truck still being streetable, and by streetable, I mean a good, broad powerband, (it's not a race truck, so I need more than power at just the top end). I have a PDR 35/3B. 5 (larger compressor than the regular 3B), with a 42mm external wastegate, with a ported, o-ringed head, water/meth, and I plan on getting a cam and intercooler. I am not all that concerned with smoke one way or the other - powerband is most important to me.
Piers has suggested a 913 pump (instead of a stupid pump) for its somewhat variable timing vs static for drivability, and price. Now, the question becomes what to do on the 913. What should/can be done on it to achieve max hp without becoming too hot for my setup, or too narrow a powerband? I don't know about what all can be done on these pumps, since I've been a VP44 guy up until now. Any help/advice would be great! Thanks,
Skyler
