I just hooked up my comp and love it :D But was wondering what kind of pusher pump to get to help out the vp. That's the last thing I need right now :( I'm already planning transmission upgrades :cool: Thanks again

Pusher

FASS or RASP come to mind. Not speaking from experience but a steady fuel pressure thats not too high and hard on the VP44 sound pretty good to me, especially if you tapped your pump. Of course thats if money isn't an issue since both of those units are pretty spendy! :{

I'm sure someone who can speak from experience will chime in.

Edited for spelling!

With just a Comp, you shouldn't need one unless your pump isn't doing its job. Since the Edge box is all you have on there... call them and ask them what they would use. They should know what to recommend with their box.

The most basic pusher pump to assist will be a Carter 7psi high volume as found in Summit Racing or Jegs books. Not expensive... easy to modify to work. Proven effective by several here. It also keeps overall pressure down to safe level using the 7 psi pump.

The Carter pump #P4600HP is the 7psi, 100gph pump. This is the pump you would use at the front of the gas tank, mounted to the frame. Tap into the hot wire off the stock wiring to use as the trigger wire on your relay. Do not wire the pusher pump to come with a key switched hot wire, or you could have a hard start condition. Sam

Thanks, I will check into the carters. Not that I need it now, but I have plans for more power :-laf Is the fass system also a pusher pump? What are the differences? Thanks again

The FASS is a complete aftermarket system that does away w/ the stock pump and filtering system (and fuel heater).

The RASP on the other hand runs in parallel w/ the stock system, so you have it as a backup if you were to ever break a belt. Oh, the belt you ask? Ya, that's cause it's a mechanical system, NOT ELECTRIC! Check it out on DTT's website at www.dieseltrans.com under the Dodge category and "what's new". I'm installing mine today. No, it's not cheap, but the positives that I see it has over the others are well worth it.
