Back to the origional question... ... ... ... either will work . How well will vary with track, tires, trans, power level and clutch.

Bob

Here are my limited observations. I run 4. 10's at low hp levels around 400 give or take a little. I have one real gear I can run at that level and that is 3 low. I can run 2 high at some tracks, but you break on the high side and you will have some major carnage compared to the low side. With the 3. 55's you can still run 3 low, but have much better wheel speed. I had been looking for 3. 55's for that reason, but the sledpulling will be limited this year. I have typically been told to run the next gear, 4 low, I need an additional 150-200 hp to be efficient. The rest comes down to the factors that Bob4x4 listed. Are you going to keep the lift?

Thomas

my bad on the gear ratio you guys are right, as far as the lift, it will have to stay for now cause the people i bought it from put leaf springs in the front and is no way to lower it, so unless you know where i can get the factory font end setup fror cheap i am stuck with the lift.
