I need to go into the Dodge "*******" and get a reflash on my truck for some issues its haveing. Is there any one "flash" thats better than the other? Or do I just have them download the latest and greatest into my truck? I do have a FASS pump and a TST box if it makes a difference.

I think you'll find that there is really a choice other than the latest flash version. I researched all the bulletins for mine that involved a reflash. I knew what all of them were supposed to do and picked the one I felt was best for my needs. The dealer called, trying to find the one I wanted, and said only the latest comes up on their computer. I think because of emissions certification, they are only allowed to use the latest at the dealership.

Things to look forward to: High Idle feature. Possible power increase towing, especially in overdrive. But with your mods, you may not notice that.

Will i see any increase or decrease in fuel milage? How much of an rpm increase am I looking at with the high idel feature?

jabird

The high idle feature as listed in the TSB 18-019-01 re-flash, will yield 1200rpm idle and also shuts off 3 cylinders if the intake air temp is below 15*F. I had mine re-flashed over X-mas vacation and this morning is the first time it was cold enough to engage the 3cyl. idle. MAN,, I see what every one was talking about now... it sounds wicked!!!! The engine knocks like it has bad fuel... the 4" BD exhaust cracks like I had an exhaust brake turned on. But let me tell you, it was about 5* and after idling about 10 minutes, I drove 1/2mi. and I was over 150* on the temp gauge. It is worth it... make sure you tell them to turn on the 3cyl. high feature though... and make sure they re-check it to see if it saved the changes in the ecm, I had to go back to have them re-enable it. Hope this helps. For more info look at the oem high idle feature post. Oo.

p. s. my mileage never changed

Do I need a reflash on my 99

I am the third owner of a 99. I see the sticker that it was reflashed in 01. Should I get the latest? What can one expect to pay for a reflash?

cost

They only charged me $29 to do mine. I think some dealers are a little more greedy though, I have read on here as high as $90. Hope this helps.

My guy is telling me $75..... But if your not out of your warranty the "high idel" tsb in another posting here should get you reflashed for nothing
