I usually try to shift at 2,000 rpm. On occasion, like when I need to leave a light in a little more of a hurry, I shift around 2200 from 2-3, and 2300 from 3-4.

I usually run 5th gear from 45mph up.

Driving like this, I always get 20+ mpg in the city. My mileage is actually usually worse on the HWY.....

depends on if i am racing some one usually between 3500 and 4000 :-laf

but if i just want to go around town minding my own business then 2000 to 2500

That engine runs in equipment all day long at 2300. That's where I shift normally and am not afraid to leave it there. Bumping 25-6-700 rpm doesn't scare me on a shift either but I rarely do it.

Ya I would say in the 2000-2500 range depending on grade, ETC. I try not to lug it below 2000 in a shift cause with the straight pipe its a LOT louder down there. Plus the smoke factor... .
