Dave Smith says the new truck should be ready in a week or so - is there anything I should watch for? 2004. 5 4DR 3500, 6SPD, 2WD, DRW.

Any advice for a newbie owner?

thanks

Rubber body plugs under the cab

Rear differential noise at 67 MPH

REALLY thing paint

Cab clearance lights being overtightened and cracked.

Fluids all full

GET MUD FLAPS... . before driving.

Do a search, several people have asked similar questions and I recall there being one really long thread about vehicle inspections.

I'd drive the truck out for the test drive alone and park it. Then climb all over it with a fine tooth comb without someone looking over your shoulder. No pressure that way and no one to say hurry up.

I think Dave Smith is pretty highly thought of so not much of a worry.

Bought from Dave Smith also. Nice people to deal with, I was very pleased with my deal and the way I was treated. I had them install mud flaps, spray bed liner, steps, and tint the back and front side windows. Now have 3500 miles with no problems so far.

They are not at all pushy and will allow you a test drive and all the time you need to look it over.

Make sure you climb right up in the bed and check that roof for no dents!!!! Been there and done that!!!! Check that whole truck over as though you are buying a lemon!!!! Good Luck!!

Inspect paint and overspray BEFORE you sign. Any overspray means touchup. As said b4... check roof

Drive at 70-75mph for driveline vibration test

Pay attention at takeoff for the driveline shutter - it can be felt just after the truck starts moving
