Competition DHRA/LACR results

I have a 01 H. O. and I have a set of twins on order and I was wondering what studs and rings should I use. I have water/meth that I plan on using and I don't know if I will run the spray. Please let me know what you think.

first step is get it off the truck and checked for cracks and straightness. once you've verified it has no cracks then a nice 3 angle valve job would be the next best thing you could do. after that order a head gasketmatched to the proper thickness based on the deck resurfacing job, get the head oringed and prepare the block for re-installation by chasing the threads and cleaning the matting surfaces.

you could also clean up the ports a bit, grind the #1 hump and lettering out of the intake side etc.

Do you think I should use 12mm studs or the 14mm. I have a set of 12mm sitting on the bench but was wondering if I should use 14mm studs just to be safe.

Yep, what Jim said. you have to ask yourself "how much boost will i be running"

Note: You'll probably need to upgrade the air to air charger before you can overload the 12mm head studs and lift the head.

be sure to torque them to the manufacturer specs of the bolts you buy. they vary depending on what bolts/lube you're using.

I would recommend checking the head for flattness, then if needed mill the head flat. Lapping the head can help get a good seal on it... ... You can index the injectors to get them all exactly the same and do some mild port work. If you really want to go all out really port the head and install some good valve springs and retainers. All of this goes along with what has been said above as far as checking out the head, replacing worn guides and seats, and O-ringing it.

I would recommend the 12mm studs to finish off the package.
