Hey guys I,ve got a 2wd quad cab long bed drw 03' . I found the 19. 5 wheels I like but need some input on what tire size works or doesn't and problems .

Thanks in advance

In short, the skinnier the better and in light of you get what you pay for, the more expensive, the better. I run Michelin XDE-MS 225R70 19. 5's.

225/70R19. 5's are very close in diameter to stock. So if that's what you want, then use those, or you could look at 245/70R19. 5's if you want slightly taller. I'd do this if you want taller gearing. I'd have them test fit on the truck first. They should fit, but since I've not done it, I hate to guarantee it. To run the 245's you really should have 6. 75 wide wheels, if you have 6 inch wide wheels stay with the 225's. Yes you can shoehorn the 245's on the 6" wheel, but you will not get them to balance out nearly as nicely if you put them on 6. 75" wide wheels. Doubt you'll get much larger tires under a 2wd.

thanks those are some of the answers i'm looking for. Ive got a line on getting some railroad takeoffs and all i have to do is buy the wheels. Just like to have some reassurance from someone with them

I noticed you have DRW... ...

Did you find steel wheels... . or custom wheels...

I'm looking for steel wheels for my trucks but have not found any rated over 2600 lbs. . which is a step down from the factory wheels... and a tire that can go as high as 3800 lbs as I remember... .

i'm looking at aluminum wheels so far although i havent ruled out black steel wheels yet. But like you cant find any that will stand any more than 2550 lbs ? the aluminums will hold 3500???

I'm running the 225 70 19. 5s Hankook DH01 drivers and AH06 steers. I have the 6. 75" steel wheels so am limited in widths. But I've always been a fan of narrow tires in snow conditions anyway - especially with a dually. I have been very happy with them, no shimmy in the fronts and good traction. I know they will handle any load I'll be hauling.

I've got the Mich XDE M/S also, only I've got the 245's. I like where they put me for RPM's, but they are way too heavy. I'll probably go with 225's next time. Although it's hard to switch when I'm on track to get around 100K with lots of HEAVY towing.

Jim,

Check the Accuride website. The website contains lots of listings and will require a little time to filter through the many wheels but I think you will find a 6. 75" wheel for Dodge duallys with a weight rating of approximately 3000#, maybe 3500#.

Thanks for the tip... I was at a trade show about 60 days ago and saw the accuride people... we have an account with their Gunite Division... . I talked to the guy at the show... . and later emailed him twice..... never got a call back or email... . after you mentioned them today I went to there web sight again..... and did the search... . found only the wheels that are on my 2000 F550..... and nothing in a 19. 5" with the correct bolt pattern... . not even the bread truck wheel that will only handle 2500 lbs. .

I again sent an email requesting help. . this time it was a blind email to their customer service dept... instead of the contact person that I had... .

If I don't get an answer I'll call next week... .

Jim
