Engine/Transmission (1994 - 1998) What size are the NUTS!?

I have to replace my rear axle seals and I need to know what size the nut is. I think its 2 9/16. And do I need to replace this nut? The dealer tells me I do along with the little retainer clip. I don't want to replace the nuts if I don't have too. They cost $30 bucks each.

Here is something I saved from someones post a year or two ago. Maybe this will help you...



I had a rear axle seal go out so I had to get into the rear hubs, I can't believe how cheap the locking nut and clip is. After a little research I located some replacement parts that lock much better.



The part numbers for the spicer parts are; 621028, 621027, 660568.

You can reuse the nut; likewise the clip if you don't damage it. The clip is cheap at Dodge.
