I want to get a cam plate for the injection pump. I've got a 95 175 horse engine. The ones at TST show same year for auto transmission. Could it also be used for the manual transmission also? Looking to hit the 230 horse power range.

Call Piers 1-866-888-9396 or TST, Piers uses TST products and build custom stuff too, both are priced the same and both are great people.

Jeff;

Find someone selling a used plate. I picked up a #4 (no boost elbow) for a great deal. Jim may even have a reject after going to a #4

Glenn got his #4 used that we installed along with the governor spring kit (GSK) on Dyno Day at Goerend's.

Hoping to schedule another open house this year at Mike's Custom Truck. Mike could set you up with some plate options and then get a pre & post dyno run to prove the power.

John,

You mention Mike's Custom Truck, where is that located and what all do they do there? I live roughly 35 minutes west of Minneapolis. It would be nice to know some shops that are interested in the Cummins.

Thanks,

Dan

Dan;

Mike's Custom Truck is in Northwood, ND.

Mike and crew can easily tackle a Cummins 12 or 24 valve overhaul.

He's a Banks and BD dealer.

He has a Dynojet in the west bay of his shop.

We had a local gathering at his place back in February that unfortunately happened to coincide with a big threat of snow, but was only lots of blowing dirt.

I haven't updated my website in many months, but you can read about it there. NWBombers

The only place local to you that I know is Zip's Diesel Service in St. Cloud. One or two of the Zip's guys plan to come up for the next dyno day open house at Mike's.

Probably a good diesel shop closest is up in St Agusta. Zips diesel service Just off I 94. I've heard good things about them. JohnE I believe stopped in to visit Zips. Maybe he can answer that a little better than I can.

A shop you may want to stay away from is Holts in Cokato. I only buy parts from them. Will not let them touch my truck ever again.

I wonder why TST doesnt mention the # 4 plate in any of there charts? That's what I have and love it... ... ..... Rick

I would say to by the plate that fuels the most! Put it in the most retarded position, and start from there! If you want to add more power later then just slide it a little:rolleyes: forward. If you don't already have them, get the gages!

Zip's Diesel

Yep;

I visited them on May 17th before heading south for the NE Iowa Dyno Day hosted by Goerend Bros. Transmission.

I stopped to visit because a co-worker with a Ford PSD had them do some preventative maintenance ... .

Zip's is a great place to have your pump or injectors flowed & balanced. They are not an advertising Cummins service shop, but do a lot of diesel service for the St. Cloud Dodge dealer. I counted 4 diesel pickups in the yard owned by employees.

They unanimously dubbed my BHAF as "Holy I TRIED TO BY-PASS THE CUSSING FILTER" and quickly copied down the Fleetguard part number.

I got a #4 and installed if fully "retarded". It still ROCKS!
