What size exhaust?

I'm trying to decide what size exhaust to go with, 4" or 5". I heard that you only need a 5" if you get over a certain horsepower. I'm looking at the Magnaflow or MBRP stainless turbo back. Also, if i delete the catalytic converter will i get any dash lights on? I have an 01' 2500 4wd quad cab diesel. Right now the truck is bone stock. Anybody have any problems with these exhaust?

Like your'e not gonna try to get your truck over a certain horsepower.



Here's what I want you to do; Let's pretend you are your favorite Dodge pick up. Now, I want you to duct tape your nose and mouth airtight and just stick a small straw through the tape to breathe with.



Now go for a brisk run in your neighborhood. Towing? Put the kids in a wagon and pull them around while you run. Having fun yet?

Four inch exhaust would do fine for you application. That thing underneath your truck is not a catalytic convertor. It's a resonator. It's main purpose is to cut down on exhaust drone. So you can delete and still be completely legal.
