Any thoughts on the HTT Super 40

I want to run an intake temp gauge. Any recommendations?

I have an 01' 2500 4wd auto quad cab. My question is what size exhaust to go with; 4" or 5"? I will either go with the MBRP or Magnaflow turbo back stainless. If I delete the converter, will I have any dash lights come on or any other problems with these systems?

I have the MBRP , bought it from Craig.

The 4" is the way to go if your not going to do lots of bombing and just want a much better than replacement.

If you want to closer to stock sounding , MBRP sells additional resonators to cut into the long pipe, between the down pipe and the muffler.

I like mine as is, just the muffler. You hear alot more of the turbo and engine. While some say they hear "drones" in there's , I hear strong tones at points the engine is working harder, and more turbo.

The install is a cake walk.

Need at least a sawsall to get the old system out. I found a grinder/cut off wheel to work best on cutting the old hangers off the old pipes.

The longest part of the work, is getting the old system out.

The new system slides in real easy.

Before you do a final tightening of the clamps, take your time and make sure everything hangs as you want it to. Then cinch everything down.

It'll be a year in a few days since I wrote the post below, so the system has been in a year. I've had no issues with. It cleans up nice as well.

Spend the extra ~$100 bucks on the 304 system.

Here's my "install and after the install" post.

Thanks for the info! This is my first diesel & I love it. I plan in the near future to install a few mods (air intake, maybe Edge Comp). Just replace the vp44 (ouch)! The truck is bone stock. Also just installed triple gauge pod (boost, pyrometer, fuel).

I too ordered the MBRP 4" from Mark and it sounds great and was easy to install with the prewelded hangers. Like the others have said, the hardest part is cutting the old system out. :)

The 4" is great for stock to light bombing.

The gauges are the 1st thing todo for bombing, and to get more from you bombing, the 2nd thing todo is the exhaust. I replaced mine as a matter of a better than replacement after my muffler and tail pipe were just getting ready to fall off.

The stock DC part, to replace the muffler and tailpipe was about the same as an entire 304MBRP system.

Go with a 4" exhaust. The 5" is to big unless you are running a bigger turbo on the truck. You will loose allot of back pressure with the 5" the 4" gives enough back pressure so that you actually gain better torque out of it, but it will still help lower the egt's.
