I have a 98 12v with a 180hp pump, auto trans, stage II diesel dynamics injectors, ATS exhaust manifold, 4" exhaust, fuel plate (not sure which one but would like to know which would work best), AFE intake.

I have no intentions on drag racing or sled pulling. I want to be able to tow in the mountains and in 115 degree heat without babysitting my pyrometer. I am also going to be driving in the desert and the mountains off road on hunting trips.

What size turbo and fuel plate should I use. What kind of dyno numbers should I expect. I am leaning towards the HTT 62/13ss/65 but have seen on member on here that says there are problems with the stainless steel housings.

Guess the SS housings have wastegate issues?

10 plate is a great one. :) Have full forward on my truck.

I'd probably go with a 62/12.

Problems with SS turbine housing?

What kind of problems with the SS exhaust housings? I was thinking of buying one of these turbos and would be interested to know about any problems.

I am just repeating what was posted on another thread which mentioned problems with the wastegate and puck. I have read a lot of good things about the 13SS housing but there are a few posts stating there are problems Witt the wwate gate.

I've never been satisfied with my 62/12, especially towing. Can't control EGTs towing and is slow to spool. The worst part is the horrible surging that is exacerbated greatly when pulling a heavy load so that your rig an trailer are jerking violently. Mine surges from the low teens to the low twenties in boost.

If you want a turbo that will combat heat really well, I would agree from what I've heard and read about the stainless steel housings, they are available for the exhaust manifolds as well. But for towing in extreme heat and wanting to cool more quickly and effectively, a Garrett ball bearing turbo cooled by engine coolant would be the most effective. It will also spool more quickly, which you'll appreciate in the mountains. In retrospect I wish I'd spent the extra money on a Garrett but will probably be going to compounds very soon.

Also, I really think the Industrial Injection turbos are very responsive and I would lean further in that direction having ridden and driven trucks running turbos from II and HTT. I plan to have II modify my HTT turbo. Not familiar with Turbonetics but they seem to be growing in popularity.
