what spare parts should I carry?

Just want to put to gather a spare parts kit for the truck (see sig) what would make up a good kit of parts that go bad on theses trucks?

please post whatever you think, and any specialty tool needed for the job.



all I carry right now is all the filters, oil, hoat, DI water, belt and some basic tools and electrical cleaner and grease.

Looks like you have it covered. Not much needed on your model year truck. I carried (still need to order another) a spare fuel pump, not so much a problem for you.

The thread topics that seem to come up somewhat often are water pumps, fuel control actuators, injector lines cracking (happened to me), and fan clutches.

install a fp gauge and only change the fuel filter when drop is 3 psi more than normal, it is the only filter you need to carry. do not need belt either. get a #4 injector line from cummins part # 4988808 cost about $28 when it fails you need a 19 mm and a 10 mm wrench. the 07 has some of the 06 weird wiring where they complete grounds rather than apply power i carry a multimeter along with the spare fuse pack. a tire plug kit and compressor is must and if you do not want to be all day get one that connects to battery not cigarette lighter

I would add an extra belt tensioner. You can usually get a belt somewhere but the tensioner is another story.
