I am looking at the MTX Thunderform sub enclosure and the Q-logic sub enclosures for a 2006 quad cab ram. I was wondering what subs do you guys have mounted in these enclosures? I would love JL W3 subs, but am not sure they will fit. What is the best subs that will fit?

You should also check out this box HERE. I just got mine and it is really nice! Perfect match to the OEM leather. All the dimensions for sub mounting are given in the listing. Best of all, you get to keep your rear underseat storage! ;)

Thanks Jeff!

That looks great. I have sent the seller some questions, so I'll wait to hear from him/her.

I really didn't want to lose the rear storage.

I am thinking about a 12" JL W3 for the box. Any thought on it? What is the best sub you can put in the box?

I am thinking one 12" sub in this location would sound as good as two 10" subs under the back seat. Am I correct?

Based on the volume of the box, I have decided on the JL10w6v2, which is a 10 inch model. It's recommended volume is exactly that of the box. It should sound as good or better than two JL10w1v2 subs under the back seats due to it taking 33% more power than both of the w1v2 subs combined.

I will say that the one you have linked looks mighty tempting since it fits the box volume perfectly when set up for 12 inch speakers.

I talked to the maker of the hot box because I asked if he could make a custom box to hold a JL 12W6 because it wont fit because its not deep enough and he said to run a 10W6 instead of a 12W3. I had a JL 12W3 in a stealth box on my 99 and it sounded good, but I think I will be trying out the 10W6 in a hot box for my 03. .

I found out from him that I would need to relocate the control box that is located under the center seat in 2006 model trucks. I was not really interested in having to move anything. Where would I move it to if I have an amp under each front seat? I am now thinking about other options.
