did i just get taken by DC again? i ordered the body side moulding with the two extra strips that go behind the rear wheels and just paid over $400!!!!!!

did i just get taken for a ride? let me know if the guy just messed up and ordered everything piece by piece or if there is a kit. i like the looks of the DC kit and not the other popular body side mouldings.

thanks guys

Side Moulding

I have been looking into the side moulding that is missing (no longer put on by Dodge) for my long bed. The quad cab comes with just two pieces now, the little piece was deleted. I called a dealer and got the number (55076891AA) for a '99 long bed for the moulding from cab to front of the rear wheel on the bed. For the rear wheel to rear bumper the part number (55076902AA) was for a '99 short bed cab to rear wheel. I have heard that it is the correct length for the rear wheel to bumper on a long bed.

The price for the first number was about $28. 00 and the second number was about $22. 00. So for the bed it's about $100. 00. I am still checking to see if these numbers are correct.

$400. 00 sounds a little high, but with six more pieces to order who knows. The dealer I call is a internet discount place.

I think there was an article in the TDR about this subject, but I have only found one thread on the forum. If anyone can supply the correct numbers I would be thankful.

I asked for the piece behind the rear wheel Stock #55274906 and they wanted $62. 00 Cdn. it's only 1-1/2' long!!

Now looking for after market trim shops.

Guess how much for the bottom outside window trim on each door? You know the one that starts to rust at the back of the window? Just about the same price again.

Part numbers

Brian,

I Email you to get the part numbers if you still have them. Are the numbers I have correct?

Thanks,

Cary

Try Doug Greenfield, Parts Manager at Dave Smith Motors... .

1-877-572-7870... Free shipping for TDR members!

I bought the kit for my 2001 quad and had half that price in it.

See the new Geno's catalog in the TDR. On page 12 see "trim guard" MUCH better priced than D/C.

Complete kits are $97 bananas. Looks just like the OEM body side molding. (by the picture) :)
