I have a squeek in my truck that is driving me crazy. I only recently noticed it, so I started thinking about any changes I have made. Only change is new ball joints upper and lower on both sides.

I an hear it loudest with the windows up, but do not think it is coming from the inside. I cannot hear it when going over speed bumps (thinking it was in the suspension) cannot hear it at all sitting still with truck running.

Any bushings I should be looking at?

My neighbors think I am a crazy man--Standing on the bumper of my truck jumping up and down, then going to the opposite end of the truck and doing it again. They're starting to make Dodge jokes!!!

Please Help!!

(My main concern is that I have a bushing (or something else) going out or gone, and do not want to be stuck somewhere with the wife, kids and a 27' fifth wheel):-{} :{

I installed a set of the Rancho shocks a couple of years ago. It wasn't too long after that I got this squeak coming from the rear of the truck... it was driving me up a wall. You drive thru a mall parking lot full of people and when you cross that speed bump it would squeak terrible. Oh well... what I found out was that it was the urethane bushings in the shocks...

I still haven't fixed them yet!

Thanks for the ideas and suggestions fellows. I will be trying the spraying of bushings, steering arms, transmission bushings tonight.

I had a squeak too. It was very hard to pin down. Almost sounded like the tailgate was moving side to side on it's pivots and causing the noise. It would only do it while driving, I couldn't make it do it in the driveway by bouncing it, that is until it got REAL bad. Found the left rear upper shock mount with a fatigue fracture and the squeak was the fracture talking as it flexed. You might want to check out this thread: https://www.turbodieselregister.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=36499 Good luck

If it does it when turning it is the upper rag joint on the steering shaft. I was going crazy and read an old post in the search forum. I went out and wiggled the intermediate shaft

and there was some play, sprayed kroil on it and it dissappeared.

You might look up TSB # 23-19-00. It has to do with cracked welds in the cab structure and checking clearance around the AC/heater/vent ducting under the dash. Some of those little squeaks and rattles can fool you. You might swear it's outside when it's inside, or swear it's inside when it's out.

That is exactly the thing I wanted to know about. Not sure yet if it is my problem and will look. That is what is so great about this group, you can come up with almost any possibilities.

I think you have the same problem that I did. Look at the rear leaf springs. At the top leaf towards the front there is a spot where the leaf slides against a flat surface. Spray some oil up there on each one. That should clear that dam noise. It did for me. Good luck
