It's gone up over a quater a gallon in the past 2 weeks around here (north Puget Sound area in WA) and tonight, at 5:30 it was 1. 49/gal and at 10:30 it was 1. 54!!! WTF??? It's now more than premium gas!!

$1.49 is all?

Your lucky you don't live in San Diego. We get the brunt of the worst prices always. Even L. A. is always at least 10¢ cheaper than us. The lowest I've seen it here in a year has been $1. 47 and a high of $1. 89 during the same time.

Thank God it's a work truck and gas is a write off:D :D

I was just discussing this with a friend yesterday. I had noticed the local Cenex had gone from $1. 369 to $1. 399 to $1. 499 to the current price of $1. 599 in a little over three weeks! WTF? I just shook my head and drove up the road to the 76 station... at least it was still $1. 399 there (for now).

Next weekend is Labor Day, I guess the Large Corporations want to up the cost of travel over the weekend. It should drop back down after the holiday. I hate those *******s!

Something stinks

That and a refinery in Illinois (I think) shut down due to fire damage. They say it will take up to 6 months for repairs.

My question is this. If oil is scarce, and the price goes up accordingly. Why are there no empty tanks at my local filling stations? I mean a higher price would be indicative of a shortage, wouldn't it? Something smells fishy.

Well when I went to put some fuel in the new 5 speed I was "Test driving" it was upto $1. 69 per gallon, the very next day I went to fill up my truck and it was $1. 79!

I am used to paying about $1. 49 per gallon or so.

Boys, this is a bunch of Bull. Diesel in Southeastern Ohio is $ 1. 469. It is normally about $ 1. 289. This is a rip off. Diese Fuel used to be so cheap. Another thing, they say we have a shortage:rolleyes: The government just wants more money.

If you think about it, the farmers have us covered. We can have diesel fuel from soybeans, it should be cheaper for us than petroleum and help out the farmers. Another thing, electricity can be made from manure. Do you realize the ease and what would happen if this was done. It would also lower energy prices. There are ways around this energy crunch but the government doesn't want to look into it, they want to make more money.

Filled up at $1. 52 today. Ten days ago it was $1. 30. When I bought the truck it was $. 85. What the hell happened???????

Central Oregon the same. I filled up in Madras 3 weeks ago at 1. 29, last weekend 1. 53 . What gets me is when I see gas prices at Plum Fierce on the northbound one way in Redmond at 1. 53 and at the southbound Redmond store at 1. 50 . No more than 2 block away from each other on the same highway, same franchise... Explain that one to me!!

Try it up here in Canada. It was as high as . 78 cents a litre, which is $3. 50 Gal CDN\$2. 30 Gal US. It has dropped back down to about . 60 cents which is about $2. 70 Gal CDN\$1. 80 Gal US. They say it is supposed to skyrocket again soon. . Ouch ! Time to get a transfer flow and head across the border !

Here in Northern VA, I have been paying 159. 9 for Amoco Premium Blend (47 cetane) for the past 4 months with no change. This is 10 cents more than 87 octane unleaded.

100 miles west in the Eastern Panhandle of WVA, I am paying 135. 9 for the same fuel. These prices have remained steady recently in this area.

Paid $1. 24 in Opal, Virginia on Sunday at the East Coast station on Rt. 29.

Pay $1. 53 at the Hess station in Annandale on 236.
