Alright, I finally found a 07 5. 9 Mega 4x4 Laramie with under 40k miles. What are some things for me to look at before I decide to pull the trigger. It has been 10 years since I last ventured out an even longer since I purchased used. With 2 kids and 2 labs we need a bigger vehicle.

The truck has an automatic transmission. I already rebuilt my 47RE I really don't want to have to go down that road with this truck. How can I tell if it has been chipped? Any Lift pump concerns? How about ball joints? Did they finally cure the death wobble or do I have to do a DSS on this truck too? Sorry for all the questions, I am sure there are several that I am missing.

Well I have been happy with my 07. Make sure it is a early 07 with the 5. 9

It would have a 48re if its an auto, they seem good so long as U don't up the power past 60hp over stock. I would take it to the dealer and ask them if it was boosted. I think they fixed the lift pump problem in 05 I believe. Haven't done ball joints yet and I am at 115,000km. Only problem I had so far is a front drive shaft was replaced.

:) Very happy with my early 07 3500 SRW, i5. 9,48RE, 4 x 4. No issues to date.

I recently had the "oppourtunity" to possibly tell a buyer that his used truck had been previously chipped. I never saw the truck, but he observed that following after I suggested that he look for:

Any evidence of a Velcro spot in the engine compartment that a tuner was attached to. His fuse cover was mysteriously missing.

His exhaust manifold had been drilled and plugged with a pipe plug.

A very unique hole had been plugged in the air horn above the grid heaters.

Exhaust modification, here kitty kitty.

Another un-named why does a stock truck need that modification item.

Good luck.
