Hi folks

Does anyone know if 35" tires will fit a 92 W250 w/ 2" of lift in front?

Thanks

Clint

Clint,

I don't have a straight forward answer for you but..... before I converted my rig into a dually, I had a set of 285/75-16 on 2nd Gen. wheels and no lift. I believe that size equates to a 33" tall tire. I would think a 2" lift should clear 35's.

Aloha,

Matt

I had the same experience with 285's on my 93 W250, except I have them on Mickey Thompson 16x8 rims. The leaf springs are almost resting on the bump stops also. They'd most likely fit for street driving, but not if you want to go off road and have the suspension fully articulated or anything.

Also I was wondering if a set of newer(read third gen)17" wheels would work on an older truck like a crew cab from the mid 80's. I ask because I have a good set of tires for my current truck in the 17"size,and it would be nice to use on a crew if I buy one(hopefully soon).

Thanks everyone.

Steve, what did you use to trim the sheet metal? Any things to watch out for?

Clint

Checkbook.

I had that trimmed by a local body shop. That was before I got smart and started doing it my self.

The inner fender well was just pushed back to make room for the tyre and the opening at the rear was angled back about 10 more degrees.

For the 35" tall tire your going to be either geared too tall (low numerically) or to low (high numerically). I've been running 4. 10 and the "perfect" size is a37" tall tyre, but I have to change wheel as most use 17" rim
