TOWGUY,
They must be very new. Last November I was shopping for tires and they were not available in that size. I see too that they are now listed on Dunlop's website.

IMO they are an excellent tire, and I will soon own a set again. I have got to get these 245's off the truck. Thanks for the heads up.

I've got Remmington Mud Brute 245/85 on my truck. They are a AWESOME tire. They are wearing slower than the cooper discoverer AST 245/75 I had on it before. I can't hear any tire noise over the engine, so they cant be too loud #ad
except when they are squalling #ad
. Remmington is a generic tire company, so dont expect to find it at the high dollar places. But it is the best mud tire for your $$ I have put 8000 miles on them since I got them half used for free, and they have very little wear. They handle great in mud, snow, ice, rain, dry pavement, dirt, gravel, and anywhere else you might go. They dont stick very well when in the air (too fast over hills #ad
).
Here is a pic of the cleanest my truck is ever.

I run Goodyear 305/70R-16's that don't rub at all. Check out the link to my pics. I only have one picture right now. I really like them. They are mounted on Eagle 589's (16 X 8's).

Well I have the 33" 12. 50 BFG AT's, Got them in December and have about 11k on them so far (yes i drive alot of miles). I really like the tire and they seem to be holding up, however with this size of a tire and pulling average 3k LBS, and 1k miles a week I have lost some good mileage. 1. 5-2 mpg. Also I dont think Ill get over 35k out of them and paying $700 for a set of meats, could be an expensive yearly bill. Some things to think about.

Just couldn't help it. Now its time to play with a "HOT" PE.

Really, my tires are getting a little too thin for the trip to Moab coming up in 2 weeks.

Well I did alot of research and thanks to all that replied. I settled on the Dunlop AT Radial Rover. Since I need them more for the road, and not so much for off-road, they still have an aggressive look. Plus the price was decent.
Oh yes, I did get the 285/75R16's, and they look nice, even after having the 265 Michelins on the factory alloy 8 inch wheels.

Does anybody run 315/75s on their stock height truck? The 265/75s are about out of tread and I was wanting to run something much bigger. My brother said he ran the 315s on his 1500 without rubbing except for full-lock turning. But he's 19 and I remember what I was like when I was 19. I was specifically considering the BFG K/O.

You might want to check those rear tires Fred. After all those burnouts and doughnuts I did in your truck while you were doing my DTT TC and VB, they looked like they were getting close to their wear bars!

:D :D :D :D :D

Just kidding.

I'm with TowPro,

On My 2wd, SRMII's by Cooper are great. Long wearing and at $104. 00 hard to beat the price. I'm on my second set. First set lasted over 60k miles.

Is anyone running the Kelly-Springfield MSR radial? My dad has them in 285-75-16 on his Ford with good results. They are quite agressive and run quiet. Wear is good too.

My main concern with any tire is how long will they last. I know you need to rotate them like every 3,000 miles to get good wear. My Michelin's have 30,000 and have some tread left, but not enough.

Dang Fred, you're TOUGH on tires! I've got 60k on two, 75k on the other two, and I have NEVER rotated my tires. I know I should, and I might with the next set. I have enough tread for summer driving, but, it's getting about time for a new set.

Sounds like you need a set of Michelin LTX/AT's. Go to the tire rack web site and read the ratings and the owner experences. Michelins are the top quality tire made and since my life is riding on these donuts I want the best. I am sure that the other tires mentioned are good tires and may be cheaper but if you want the quality and safety go with Michelin.

Tires too

BFG's are and have been terrible at's and mt's. 256-75-16r's and 33-12. 50-15 on another rig. Went with Avon sxt a/t's 265-75-16r's. If you need more traction there is a m/t type too. I have also used I think they were Cooper Discover a/t type. Were great any where i needed except deep mud. The dealer even states the Bfg's Ihave on one of my rigs are junk but need to use them up first. Basicly they dont stay balanced and shack all the time. theyre A/T's.

For A/T's: BFG's are hard to beat. They drive on road fine, are quiet & tough. My 285's are at 60,000 miles and still have a few miles left. The only drawbacks, are they are a little loose in mud & they pick up rocks & fling 'em into orbit (after eating your paint off first).

For Mud: Dunlop Radial Mud Rovers are excellent traction tires. They really bite in loose stuff. Got 40k out of my last set. But are noisy, and you have to rebalance them at 20k miles.

My next set, going back to the Dunlops. BFG A/T's arent quite aggressive enough.

Well, the Dunlops got about 25,000 and were getting thin in the center. Very thin!

Now it's BFG A/T's. Same size 285's.

One day old and on the dyno, they were spitting out little rubber pellets as the tires struggled to keep traction under a 1200 Ft. lb. dyno run.

And you wonder why they don't last long.
