:) Just got my first Cummins and I love it!!!! 3200 miles in two weeks. I was wondering what I should do to it first. I was also wondering about straight pipes. Do you just go to the muffler shop and have them put on. Does this do anything to the warranty.

$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

Take out a second mortgage on your house, and while the paper work is being processed, read all the posts on upgrading you can find. Go back to the bank and ask if they are sure that's all the equity you have:D :D

Then get to know your UPS driver, as some of these parts are rather large, you want him to be your friend! Go to your favorite tool store and make sure you have a good set of SAE & Metric wrenches with all the options. A welder and a torch are handy but not necessary:)

Then BOMB's away... ... .

Seriously, Gauges first everything else can be monitored from there. the options are endless... ... .....

Congratulations & Good luck,

Garrett

I don't have it linked any more but Ted Jannetty posted a great list of the proper order of bombing this past winterlink 1

link 2

These two links should help but definitly do the gauges first. I wish every day that I had baselines on my truck for boost, and egt stock. I am going to do dual fuel pressure soon also but wish I had known to do that from the beginning.

Guages First!

Given that you have the ETH engine, get the guages first.

The ETH runs hotter EGT's stock than the ETC engine, so you are less likely to be "lucky" on EGT when BOMBing.

I bought my guages after one BOMB, but wish I had done it first now.

THEN.....

Get yourself an EZ box, boost elbow, and maybe a set of injectors and voila!, you will have a MONSTER towing machine.

You could go with other boxes of course, but for the simplicity and ease of removal, it's worth it given how much extra torque you get out of it.

one get Service Manual for your truck (about 100$ worth every penny0 Two get the guages as above on order takes some time, Run your truck and see how it is now so you have a way to compare it to any mods . Read all the info in the TDR and here. Welcome and hope this helps . Ron in Louisville KY  :D

At least get the pyro. But while you are at it buy two for post and pre. turbo and maybe boost then trans. temp. A pillar mount dash pod for more gauges, OOPS there I go again!!! Bombs away and welcome to the madness.
