Joke of the day...

New option for 2005 Models: passenger security...

I am staying in Kent (Yup the people who picked out the hotel could have done better... ) and I will be here for another week and a half. I have been to Market Square in Seattle, and last night we went to the Hooters in Tacoma.

My nights are pretty free, so any advice on what to do and where to go in the area would be appreciated.

Thanks

John

There's the EMP at the base of the Space Needle. You should be able to catch the Mariner's. Check out Safeco Field. It's a great field. Plus, the Mariners are likely to lose, you can leave by the 7th inning. If you want to travel to the heart of the Liberals, goto Broadway street on Capital Hill. Qwest Field also does tours. I haven't had the chance to get there yet. The best steak I've had in Washington is Ruth's Chris Steak House. Take Benjamin and friends. The steak is well worth it. Everything is ala carte.

Skip dinner at the Space Needle. The food is ok. Take the tour. The Cinerama is an awesome place to see a movie. Unfortuneately, nothing new is playing currently. Stone Cold Creamery makes awesome ice cream. I think there's a Bomb Party happening this weekend. Not sure on the exact location.

When we were there a few years ago we found that the Seatle Underground tour neat (we are history buffs and my wife's an architect).

Take a drive down to (and then up) Mt. Rainer.

Broadway up on Capitol Hill would be nice, A good ole' Texas boy may just have a stroke with the weirdos up there.

I second the Museum of flight, great to go see. A ferry ride is nice, Go over to Bremerton in the light, and come back as it is getting dark and see all the lights.

A hotel in Kent? I work in Kent there are a couple of usable ones on 84th/North Central, and other than that go to some other city. Which one are you staying at. If you are up on Pacific Highway South literally which shooting and or stabbing do you want me to tell you about?

This Friday there is Dyno Mania up in Surrey BC at Piers Diesel. On Saturday the 18th there is the diesel drags or pull something out at Pacific raceways East Kent/Covington area.

For steaks my favorite place is El Goucho in Tacoma (one is now open in Seattle but I have not been there) or the Metropolitan Grill in downtown Seattle. If you have have your significant other with you go to the Lodge up at Snoqualmie Falls and have dinner. Get a room there also you will score some big brownie points.

The Dyno event is Friday all day in Surry B. C. then on Saturday sled pulls at sumas wa. at the sumas rodeo grounds. Sunday sled pulls & truck races & show & shine at Pacific raceway in Kent.

Come over to our site at www.nwbombers.com click on the forums go to events in the works.

The Boeing Surplus Store and it is in Kent. It is open Wednesday and Friday 10am to 5pm and Saturday 9am to 4pm. 20651 84th Ave. S. Never know what they will have but it is always fun and some good deals, mainly tools. :D

Up in Woodinville: Red Hook Brewery... . best brewery tour ever. A must see... . Ballard Locks to Lake Washington in Fremont, lots of salmon. Watch for the sign to Fremont... . "Welcome to Fremont, the center of the universe, set your watch back 5 minutes. ":-laf Hales Ales brewery is also there. A ride on a float plan at Kenmore Air on Lake Union.

Just spent 2 weeks in Seattle and a week on a boat up in Gulf Islands, Canada. Victoria if you have time.

Cary

Thanks for the info. I am staying at the Best Western Plaza by the green. Its pretty nice, but I would have prefered the Extended stay place that has a kitchen.

I will have to second the underground tour. We did it back in 01 when we were there. It was a good take. Also go check out the space needle that was fun, especially on a clear day like we had. Mt Rainer was a blast as well. Oh yeah we also did a boat tour of Elliot bay which brought us through the locks to the lake. Oh yeah is the Puyallup fair going on now or has that passed? We did that back in 01 as well but then again we were there in early september(came home 9/9/01)Lots of cool things to see. I wish I could move out there. Go M's!!

Get on www.NWBombers.com and check the events calender.

Boeing tour of Everett (if they still have it) is another blast.

Space Needle or (the box it came in) Columbia Tower or the Smith Tower.

Here's an odd one, catch a bus in downtown Kent on the weekend and go to downtown Seattle. Easy way to travel and it may be one of the new hybrid diesel electric buses.

Tacoma Maritime Festival is this weekend.
