What to do? I pulled twice this summer and officially got a forth and a second. The forth was a slimy clay track and I would've won it but the call the pull off because of rain before the pull-off. It was a dually class and everyone had street tires except for me, I had Mud Terrains.
Anyways, the pull the other day I was second, there were about 20 trucks, including 460 big blocks and powerstrokes and durmaxes. #1 was a duramax at 280 feet and then me at 274 feet, then another duramax at 270 feet and most everything else was around the 250 foot mark or farther back.
With my 4. 10 gears I've been pulling in fourth gear low range and at 3200 that is good for just over 28 mph. How can I make sure I beat these guys, I know I need more horsepower but how can I compete against something like a 12 valve with 3. 55 gears and 35 inch tires turning 4000 rpm? If he pulls 4th low he'll have 43 mph of wheel speed, I'd have to run third high to equal the wheel speed. How can my 24 valve be really competitive? Do I need to go to 3. 55 gears? Would a redline box be the ticket?
