got pipe ?

60 more HP than MACH 6???????

I think your right SNOKING, I think I will just add a set of guages and a 4 in exhaust... . just because I really want to... . I know that it won't do much but just want one. with my set up what would you recommend? Pyro, transmission,fp or pyro, boost,fp? Thanks for the info.

i would have all 4 transmission, temp, pyro, boost, fuel. with a 24v fuel maybe the most important to keep from killing you vp44. get tri pillar the boost and pyro in one and the other two transmission and fuel p in the other two holes.

I would contact Rip at Sourceautomotive for the exhaust. Geno's for the gauges. You can add a BHAF for a small amount of money and a LarryB heat shield.

Post number 4 has a picture of my BHAF Installation

. (then when the seals etc get tired the converter and valve body will still be good)

I disagree! when the seals go it can burn up the clutch fibers,or create a leak and starve the convertor fibers of fluid which means burnt up convertor and clutch material spread through out the trans. I have 2 transmissions here that had only a convertor and valve-body done and both are SMOKED! They both dont tow very much and are around 300 to 325 hp. Getting a completely gone through transmission gets all the tolerance's set up perfect! Some people have been lucky with just a convertor and valvebody but if lucks not on your side then :eek: :{

floor it,

your opinion counts more than mine i am just going by what i have heard you are going by what you have seen. these trannys are just so darn expensive!

Well if it was me I would buy a full transmission and use any left over on a set of gauges and a box. Do not forget the Flexplate while your at it. I read many posts saying this and that but I have never enjoyed driving my truck as much as I do with my new transmission. Do yourself a favor and call the transmission shops I enjoyed talking to 3 out of the big four very much. Great knowledgeable easy going guys. Do not be fooled, they all have a different approach to the job, LISTEN to them and decide which approach suits your needs best. Even better drive some trucks with these setups if at all possible. It is night and day believe me. Bombing is a lot of fun but it is a learning process doing it all at once takes away the fun and you will probably wish you had done something different anyway. I have been taking my time and enjoying every minute of it. I now have the weak points addressed and am ready to take a big step up in power with the confidence that my truck will handle it. Breakin parts can be frustrating or fun, your choice :-laf If you can't afford to break leave your truck alone! ;)

Ted, I am new to all this and have seen your list before, I understand everything but " 4" turbo back". What does this mean? Thanks

4" turbo back refers to the exhaust system from the turbo charger to and including the tail pipe.

Up until 03 all previous Dodge Diesel trucks were equipped with 3" exhaust system with a 4" tip.

The 4" exhaust system really improves all around performance, fuel economy and lowers exhaust temperature.

As other guys have said in there... . The transmission is the weak link. If you drive it hard, and plan on BOMBing the truck. Get it done right. I, like TractorFace, spoke with all 4 of the BIG trans companies out there. The guys at ALL of them are great. They all know how the transmission operates. Watch out for the smoke and mirrors, just get the facts. I see you are new around the TDR, Welcome. The transmission stuff can get quite heated around here. I'm not sure where your located. Try to find some local guys, save the cash, and ride in as many trucks as you can. I made my choice because of 4 reasons. Customer service is second to none, I was impressed how it operated, the price, and the Warranty is the best out there.

People will recommend the top things out there, Billet this and that, but not really know the reasons why. Sure you can break shafts, but why are you breaking them. Are you doing smokey burnouts and power braking the truck. Get the shafts..... You see what I'm saying. If your only doing 350hp, you will be fine with a good quality rebuild, an efficient converter and higher line pressures(Valve body).

Any questions feel free to ask us. The only dumb question is one you didn't ask.

Removal and installation, major overhaul, with converter and valve body fluid and additive should cost 3200. 00 baring no hard part damage.

Ted,

I'd love to know where I can get that deal! After contacted the major players, I came away with estimates around $5,000. :{ That amount caused me to soil myself :-laf I have 105,000 miles on my stock transmission with no major issues but would love to spend only $3200. 00 to support some mild bombing. Any suggestions where to go in or near NJ?

call goerend, suncoast, dtt and ats they will all try to sell you a 5K transmission but you can probably get away with updated seals with a rebuild a good valve body and triple or good single lock converter for around 25-2900 depends (guessing)

FWIW, I did just that and ended up with a complete exchange transmission with Triple disc from Dave Goerend shipped to me for less than 3G. I had originally asked him for Billet but after talking to him was convinced that I did not need it for my application. Did not need triple disc either but savings was marginal.

. I think all of the transmission guys mentioned here know their stuff well enough to know if the unit they are building needs it or not. I also don't think you can go wrong with any of the above choices, but it is hard to imagine a transmission that works better for my application than the one I bought. With that said I hear the same thing from the other guys too :-laf
