Thank You Snow Gods!

Anyone know Nick Deacon in Illinois?

What do you do when you have a punkass DRUG dealer living and dealing across the street from you? This guy is 45 yrs old and has evaded the cops and the local drug enforcement for Y E A R S ! I have lived in my house 29 years and he grew up in the same house. He is a real magot. I can't tell you how many times I have thought of what to do... ... legal AND illegal to him. I currently have a NO-Contact restraining order on his older drunkard brother that lives there also. He tried to run me down with his truck when I was on my old Triumph Cub. He was DRUNK!

Both of these jackasses live with MOMMY that is about 80.

I just had to talk about it today as it was real "BUSY" over there with people coming and going and only staying for a few minutes. I have had it!#@$%!

I have a close friend that is in his mid 70's that worked for Uncle Sam doing covert "housecleaning" if you know what I mean. He said to find him out somewhere and KNEECAP HIM!

I am going to start soon as a volunteer with our local PD as a volunteer patrol driver. I get to drive a semi retired black and white that only has yellows on top but has a radio. MAYBE I CAN DROP A FEW HINTS ABOUT THIS GUY TO THE GUYS IN BLUE. :-laf

Thanks for listening... ... I know some of you good ol' boys will have some suggestions

Ask if you can "borrow" the retired black and white for a week or two, and leave it parked in plain sight across from his house. Maybe that will deter the buyers enough that he will loose business and move elsewhere.

Every time you see someone drive up for a buy, take their picture with a telephoto lens. Make sure the buyers see the flash. After enough of them realize someone is watching, they will start shopping elsewhere.

These are just some of the "legal" thoughts I had. I know the situation really sucks. Do you have any kids at home to worry about?

Good luck... ... Steve

I know all to well what you are going thru.

They are ruining lives.

BUT, Don't do anything illegal. It isn't worth it. Don't risk your new job.

The camera is a good idea, but may have a backlash.

Report all liscense plates to the law. And decriptions of all who enter and the times , how llong they are there. Most drug deals only last 2-10 minutes. Don't go over there, as a bust may happen at that time.

However, if one of them comes on your property, deal with them big time. JUst a good beating would do, NO firearms unless they draw first.

Spend a little money. Buy an inexpensive coax camera and an RCA-to-BNC adapter (link, around $60) and a video capture card (link, around $50). Use an old PC (a 1GHz P-III with a 40GB disk drive will work). This is what I've been using at my church for a few months. It works quite well. I have the cameras set to record at 7. 5 frames per second, which has enough detail.

Don't use a cheap net cam; their image clarity leaves a lot to be desired.

If you have an upstairs window with a view of the suspect house, put the camera up there, aimed to get the best view of all comings and goings. Otherwise put the camera at the top of a downstairs window, suitable aimed. The Astak is an infrared camera for night use, but only good for about 20 feet. I would think recording all the daytime traffic will be adequate. But if you want to record night activity from a distance, be prepared to spend a couple hundred for a camera with decent IR range.

If you can deal with installing Linux (Debian or Ubuntu distributions would be fine), install it, then install the 'Linux Motion' software package. I can send you a configuration file that will do a pretty decent job of recording all motion the system detects. Be sure you've set the date and time correctly. Video is recorded in AVI format, so it's almost universally viewable. This system quietly and reliably records all detected motion to the hard drive; there's no need to have anyone monitor the system or to worry about tape loops or changing tapes. And it is easy to configure it to record each camera's videos in separate directories.

Once you have a day or three of video collected, invite the police over to review the video. Most likely they'll recognize a number of the visitors and be able to take it from there. If they want to borrow the PC to copy the video, let 'em. If they want to bring a USB drive to copy the video, that'll work too; Linux works nicely with Windows-usable filesystems (both FAT and NTFS). As I understand, police *love* video evidence, especially when they don't have to jump through legal hoops to get it.

Of course, with the bad blood, you might be well-advised to buy four cameras, and use three to watch your own property.

'Stealth' is advised. The less the miscreants know about your activities, the safer you are. And if you are a PD volunteer, then the police have 'plausible deniability': they have an official reason to visit your home, unrelated to the drug activity across the street.

It's best to avoid personal violence. But if you have to shoot 'em, make sure they're dead and they stay dead. (911 Caller: Hi. My drug-dealing neighbor attacked me and I had to shoot him. I think he's dead. Dispatch: OK. First, make sure he's dead. Caller: [BANG!] OK, I'm sure he's dead. Now what? ... ) :D

I think you are being unreasonable, you should take them a house warming gift, say a gallon of gas and some matches. Just be sure the gas in not in a container and the matches are lit.

Boomer I thought of that too, but he needs an aliby, so best to be somewhere else with witnesses and have a friend deliver the gift.

I'm generally a "do what you want to do in your house" but you could always be outside with a video camera. I think that's legal. :-laf

If he's not doing something illegal he'd have nothing to hide. Right?:-laf:-laf

Don't torch the place or other wise endanger any one in the house, remember tahat there is an 80yr lady there also. It sounds like she is either bamboozled by her son's or has a bad case of CRS.

fest3er had a few good idea's. Do what ever you plan to do so that the bozo's across the street do not know where the heat came from. Help keep you and yours safer that way.

Becoming a reserve officer may be a good thing if the cop presence on your street picks up a lot, and they see you in uniform.

Try calling the local news channel and tell them the police are doing nothing about this problem and see if they want to bring their cameras over.

Or just set up your own camera in your front yard so everyone can see they are being filmed and I am sure that will hit him in the pocketbook.

Or put a little spin on this senario

HOW TO CALL THE POLICE WHEN YOU'RE OLD AND DON'T MOVE FAST ANYMORE.

George Phillips of Meridian, Mississippi was going up to bed when his wife told him that he'd left the light on in the garden shed, which she could see from the bedroom window.

George opened the back door to go turn off the light but saw that there were people in the shed stealing things. He phoned the police, who asked "Is someone in your house?" and he said "no". Then they said that all patrols were busy, and that he should simply lock his door and an officer would be along when available.

George said, "Okay," hung up, counted to 30, and phoned the police again. "Hello, I just called you a few seconds ago because there were people stealing things from my shed. Well, you don't have to worry about them now because I just shot them. " Then he hung up.

Within five minutes six police cars, a SWAT Team, a helicopter, two fire trucks, a paramedic and an ambulance showed up at the Phillips' residence and caught the burglars red-handed.

One of the Policemen said to George: "I thought you said that you'd shot them!" George said, "I thought you said there was nobody available!"

Put a sign on the corner "DRUGS FOR SALE" then put the address on it, phone number if you have it. Then call the cops and say good grief they are even advertising. Better yet, post them all over town. Just dont leave any finger prints on them.

:-laf:-laf maybe even green sheet!!

Get a leiutenants home phone number from the police dept and find a few different pay phones then randomly over a few weeks when you pass a payphone call the officer at home and when he answers just say... your an a-hole and hang up. Eventually he will ask who the heck is calling and when he does fire off your neighbors address and say Im waiting for you a-hole and hang up. I guarantee he will be there in a patrol car within a few minutes!

Another idea is get a blow gun with darts and practice before doing this. When a suspect car is over at the neighbors use your blow gun to take out a tire or two.

I have a pile of wild weed growing in a pasture down by the river and if you were closer I would bring some over at midnight and help you transplant it into their flower beds and small containers on their deck. That would be a perfect reason for a judge to issue a search warrant.

I live in rural Iowa and we have our fair share of drug loosers also but I stay out here in my country home and dont have to deal with them often. I would say Meth is the worst around here because of the abundancy of anhydrous ammonia. On several occasions I have had to run the loosers off my property when they were attemptng theft of ammonia from wagons in neighboring fields. A few shots from a highpower in the air sends them scattering. I used to have a sticker on my entry doors to my buildings that said protected by Smith and Wesson but I took them off figuring they just better know better if they come on my property.

Best of luck getting rid of the pesky neighbors!

I like the idea of video taping him, but go one step farther.

Send the tape to the local police with a note saying that a copy has also been sent to the local tv station and district attorney and see what happens.

Worth a shot IMHO

if you've been looking to get a new vid cam, there are some very nice 1080p hdtv ones avalable now for reasonable prices. . use one of them to have a very good quality video [great for identifying people and vehicles] and then make tons of dvd copies. . mail them to all the news outlets in town, and the DA and the police. poop will hit the fan

[and you can always put a "best of" version of that on youtube for everyone to see]

I agree with rbattelle. Drug dealers do not have a reputation as "nice people". If they see you videotaping them, they might decide to get even. Whatever you do, be sure that they can`t find out who did it.

Good Luck!
